Current involvement with classicamiga.com

I'm is currently involved in all areas of classicamiga's ongoing development, and also with the running and administration of the classicamiga servers, the maintenance and updating of all server based code and databases, and development of site content.

This includes:

  • Site setup, updating, coding, administration and moderation.
  • Main site content creation and addition
  • Forum vBulletin software setup, updating, coding, administration and moderation.
  • Wiki site setup, updating, development, coding, administration, moderation and content creation.
  • Amibay site setup, updating, development and some moderation when needed.

Harrison's history with classicamiga.com

Originally I started working on classicamiga.com in 2001 as a personal website dedicated to the Commodore Amiga home computer, with the site slowly expanding with content as more people became interested in working on the site and its content. In 2006 I redeveloped the site from the ground up, using the content management system Joomla, into the site you see today.

Alongside the main classicamiga.com site I also formed a forum dedicated to the Amiga, and was hosted by invisionfree for a number of years until the end of 2006. The forum was then relaunched using the vBulletin forum software and hosted by myself on a dedicated server.

And now I've setup and launched this new Classicamiga Wiki as a replacement for the original FAQs and Tutorials section originally located on the main classicamiga.com website. Switching over to a Wiki based site for this content should allow the content to expand as classicamiga members can work on it freely, and it will allow for richer and more detailed content to be created.
